I've got the blues in my view!

Blue is the new black for 2015. I'm researching and the picture I found on www.pouted.com just made me want to get rid of everything and go blue. Of course we know it's just a trend.

A few ways to embrace a trend without losing your own individual style is little hints of the trending color, an accessory or a print that has a touch of the color that's currently trending. This goes for fashion as well as home decor. One color can change a room in a matter of seconds. It will also add life to an oldie but goodie item such as a dress, or a statement chair.

Don't be afraid to try what everyone is doing but put your own twist on it. Blue is beautiful but what will make it my blues? I will keep you posted on my twist of WinStyles blues. [Photo credit www.pouted.com]

New Year...my how time moves fast!

Happy New Year! I started this blog almost five years ago. I haven't been consistent with blogging due to life. We get caught up in our day to day that we do not realize how fast time moves.

I was given a vision last year to start the "Dream on Movement". I am unsure of where it will go but I pray that I learn to trust God and jump out on faith. I don't believe that our goals should be put into affect because it is a new year but strive to be better than we were yesterday.

2015 will be better than 2014 and tomorrow will be better than today reach for your dreams constantly. Set goals and believe that God is in control.

Way Back When Wednesday!

Wednesday Inspiration to get out and wear something you are unsure of. Do something you are uneasy about. Live a lot, not a little. Don't be afraid to go out there and get what you want. Life is what we make it. #dreamonmovement

Head in the clouds, absolutely!

My mind has been going on and on with this Dream On movement.  The ideas keep coming. Everyone daydreams and drifts off but my head is in the clouds on this one. Not the typical meaning but the I'm up here flying high on this vision. Yes I need to put it into action. The difficulty in all honesty has been a fear of failing to make my vision clear. Will people get it? I remember as a young girl how my thoughts and visions  were always misunderstood.  At 34 years old why should I care if someone gets what I'm trying to do. Well we all face questions like this daily and overcome the doubt eventually.

Sometimes we get a clear answer just as I did via the fortune cookie right after my last post. What you thought God wouldn't confirm your visions? Well I was shocked too. I felt the need to share. I also have great followers despite my inconsistancy. Keep you head above the water by flying above the skies. Don't forget to Dream On and make those visions reality. More to come as I embrace this vision.

Dream On!

Have you ever pondered why inspiration can come often or not at all? I realized that it is a way of thinking. I had conditioned myself to allow negative influences to cloud my views. Having a conversation with a positive thinker and I said something and had a "ah hah" moment. Oprah uses this phrase when you here that whisper from God saying listen to me, I'm giving it to you to run with. This is my opinion of what an "ah ha" moment is.

The year previous was preparing me for what's next in my life. I let go of some dead weight but also have been holding grudges. If you don't see change start forgiving and moving forward I guarantee things will start moving like never before. Grudges will keep you stagnant. Who needs that?

So here it is I've been saying I'm doing what I have to so I can do what I want. But it leads me here, do you still dream?  Why is it that we seem to stop dreaming while we are trying to survive? Have we given up or given in? God speaks to us daily. We have people shutting down our dreams or God's vision for us constantly.  Check those who doubt you. Be aware that everyone is not for you. Once you've been given a vision run with it. Dream on is a catch phrase people use sarcastically to shut your dreams down. Watch this I'm flipping this negative phrase into a positive catch phrase. As clear as day in the middle of a conversation God said Dream on is yours.  Despite all that has been said dream on and make my vision for you a visual reality. Meaning show them so they can see it.

This is just the beginning of "Dream On" so I look forward to what's next. I share as always with some hope that you get inspired. Watch me style this.

Who am I, what's next for me and where am I going?

Everyone wants honesty at least that's what we say. I am a straight to the cut honest, loyal, and humble soul. As much as I like the truth it has the ability to sometimes hurt or alter my view of what it really is. "It" being whatever the subject is. So today it all came into perspective caused by a conversation I had with someone I shall name "Brooklyn". Little bit of background needed to add understanding to this post. I have always been creative and a free spirit. Fashion was my passion but I lost some drive. Fashion was my go to because uniforms were required at schools I attended even through high school. Styling came into thought after so many people would ask me to dress them or ask advise on what they had on even down to a purchase they questioned. I have never been one for labels so sometimes I mix my styles from lowest to what my budget allows. I can find treasures anywhere.  Back to conversation with "Brooklyn" I don't look the part, meaning how can you style if you are not putting effort into your look. Okay so this may be somewhat of a truth. I went from working full time, trying to balance family life while attempting to make my blog and styling gigs work. Now I am unemployed running in circles and haven't dedicated myself to what I call my calling. So I am taking some steps back, setting some new goals, and figuring out a plan so I can make things happen. Who knows what's next...only God knows.  He has a purpose for me.

Weeks Thrifty Finds

Hey people hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. This weeks thrift store find is a perfect for what we value in those who give their lives for the freedoms we have today. Although we wear dog tags for style the soldiers who wear them may not make it home to their families. We should value and honor those who have paved the way for our freedoms. I also found a book called The House at Sugar Beach by Helene Cooper. I will update more about the book once I've read it. I love my freedoms and those who sacrificed their lives. Hey look up Memorial Day history to get the facts you'll be surprised at what you learn.
