So when all of your left overs are done and you do not want to step foot in the kitchen I know somewhere you can go to get elegance and soul. I am such a foodie and we all know I support locally owned businesses when they are doing something right. Pretty Toni's Cafe is located in Valley Stream, NY. I have been there on a number of occasions for take out as well as dining in. The best way to experience this soulful spot is to dine in. It is family owned and operated. This is a really great spot for date night as well as brunch with your mom. The music is great for any one who loves good music while they eat. I personally love the decor and the service is excellent. My favorite is the catfish strips and sweet potatoe fries, jerk wings, turkey burger with goat cheese.... okay I could go on but you have to find your own favorite. If you are thinking about leaving without dessert don't do it.   They have peach cobbler, red velvet, and other sweets to satisfy your soul. So men who follow me feel as if I have forgotten them....so not true. There are a few important things that men should maintain, the way he smells, keeping his nails clean and trimmed and a clean shave or well shaped beard and or mustache. Being that I love men with beards (well shaped of coarse) you need the proper tools to keep that well groomed manly look in order. There are a few things I keep in my purse but for a few months I have been carrying Colgate Wisp. I love this product because it is a mini tooth brush along with a tooth pick at the end. Everyone who loves summer like I do knows we can not wait for the all white affairs, barbecues, and    walks in the city at night. This year was the year for nautical stripes, anchor pendants and boat shoes. One of my closest friends took me to see Avery Sunshine in concert I fell in love with music all over again. Her voice is amazing and her album really is just awesome. I always love live music so in my opinion the album does no justice compared seeing her perform live. Since I can only introduce by CD here it is my 4th day of Christmas item!

3rd Day of Christmas!

Everyone knows how much I love Hip Hop in all forms. Hip Hop has come full circle and still revolving into a movement the world has yet to see. We have hip hop artist who have made unexpected business moves, acting, producing films, and writing books. Who said hip hop would not exist and was only a phase? Well they are somewhere saying I never saw it coming and the true hip hop heads and artist are conquering the world one day at a time. Common is one of my favorite artist. He released another book "It'll All Make Sense One Day" that gave insight on him as a son, father and a man. This was one of my favorite reads this year. He writes letters to his mother, his daughter, his loves and friends. The letter I think is the most touching is to his daughter. So my third day of Christmas pick is a great book.

I know that everyone loves fresh breath on themselves and others. I have childhood memories of this candy my cousin introduced me to Choward Violet mints. There is nothing mint about this flavor and up until a few weeks ago I thought they were discontinued. I saw them in a Brooklyn deli and could not resist them. Yes they have other flavors peppermint, lemon, and a few others but violet is so unique it is addictive. So this is my first pick a must try.

Shoe Pick of the Week

With the fall season upon us it is hard to go from summer to  fall wardrobe. It is not cold nor hot so we usually mix up the seasons apparel. I love maxi dresses with blazers or shorts with opaque tights and a denim jacket. I could on and on but shoes are the trick. So these shoes right here are perfect for this fall season. Street Style Summer

So I went to this birthday party in Amityville, N.Y. at the High Note. The High Note is a little intimate spot with live bands and very sexy ambiance. The service was okay but the drinks made up for it. Which leads me to this street style.

This is a dress right.....no. This young lady said "You will not believe were I purchased this top" I said top what?! This blouse from Joyce Leslie was paired with a pencil skirt. She threw a flower in the hair for that spanish harlem look. One of my favorite looks this past summer and most of all budget friendly. The High Note 136 Broadway is for grown and sexy folk like the old heads would say but the dj also set it off so stop by and check it out.

So I have had some posts sitting in drafts for some of the summer. These were one of my favorite shoe street style picks for the summer and the hair stylist who had them on knew what she was doing!

Animal skin and prints are in this season and all seasons in my opinion.

Kanye, what else is there to say?

Guess who's ready to wear line hit Paris Fashion Week......Kanye. Yes I know you read it in my title but why is everyone surprised. He said he would and he did but most of the reviews have been negative. I have seen some garments far worst on the runway. Would I have liked to see a more polished collection yes but was it horrid no. We have seen many music artist create or put there names on t-shirts and jeans so I was impressed somewhat. Bandage dresses not so much. I got the back pack movement in the collection all smiles because if we can recall that was his signature before he went white suit on us. (for those who may not get it) Before he found his true style. There was no smooth transition from theme to theme but hey Kanye is not the man who we know what to expect from he does what he feels maybe we can take a note from him. Overall I wonder what we can expect and with Kanye there is no telling. How do you feel about the collection?

Where is WinPears

Well as many of you have noticed I have been away mentally from my blog. No worries have not had too much inspiration. You know how it is when you need to take a walk and break from routine. So I am shopping and preparing for my trip to Montego Bay Jamaica and I just love the easiness of the summer apparel this season. Nautical stripes, floral and ethnic prints are really showing up all over. Bohemian sheek is in finally. The accessories are chunky stones and lots of color. So yes WinPears is inspired finally with reason. Weekly Feature "Isabella's"

Although this comes 2 weeks after my visit to Isabella's Boutique in Rockville Centre it was a great visit. The atmosphere is welcoming. This family owned and operated boutique opened in November of 2010. The owners Elizabeth and Betty Ann are a mother and daughter combo with a great vision. I am a little embarassed to say I did not realize that there is a verizon commercial that features this store. The co-owner Elizabeth was as stylish as the selections in her store. I have to get back for my beach attire and beach bag before it all sells out, summer is almost here. You can swing by the store or visit there website www.isabellasny.com tell them I sent you.
