Who am I, what's next for me and where am I going?

Everyone wants honesty at least that's what we say. I am a straight to the cut honest, loyal, and humble soul. As much as I like the truth it has the ability to sometimes hurt or alter my view of what it really is. "It" being whatever the subject is. So today it all came into perspective caused by a conversation I had with someone I shall name "Brooklyn". Little bit of background needed to add understanding to this post. I have always been creative and a free spirit. Fashion was my passion but I lost some drive. Fashion was my go to because uniforms were required at schools I attended even through high school. Styling came into thought after so many people would ask me to dress them or ask advise on what they had on even down to a purchase they questioned. I have never been one for labels so sometimes I mix my styles from lowest to what my budget allows. I can find treasures anywhere.  Back to conversation with "Brooklyn" I don't look the part, meaning how can you style if you are not putting effort into your look. Okay so this may be somewhat of a truth. I went from working full time, trying to balance family life while attempting to make my blog and styling gigs work. Now I am unemployed running in circles and haven't dedicated myself to what I call my calling. So I am taking some steps back, setting some new goals, and figuring out a plan so I can make things happen. Who knows what's next...only God knows.  He has a purpose for me.

Weeks Thrifty Finds

Hey people hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. This weeks thrift store find is a perfect for what we value in those who give their lives for the freedoms we have today. Although we wear dog tags for style the soldiers who wear them may not make it home to their families. We should value and honor those who have paved the way for our freedoms. I also found a book called The House at Sugar Beach by Helene Cooper. I will update more about the book once I've read it. I love my freedoms and those who sacrificed their lives. Hey look up Memorial Day history to get the facts you'll be surprised at what you learn.

Street Style Game Night

I happen to be friends with a great stylish couple who invite me into their home for what we call game night. Last night everyone had something for me to blog about but the night got away from me. The host Jason who will soon be known for his own label had what I call Long Island street gear. Everytime I see this dude I am like ok I see you. Can't wait for his own label to break out. He is rocking Obey hat and sweater, Levi olive denim pants, and the classic Timberlands. Effortless look lots of character. That rose gold watch by Michael Kors was hidden but I see it Mr. Game Night. Don't worry I will get first dibs when his label breaks LI out and bring it to you first before you see it on the streets.

Radio is it for me? Doesn't matter I'm on the air!

www.2duniverseradio.com my 2nd time on DJ Priminista's broadcast. May turn this into a weekly thing. I have lots to discuss. Let me know what you want to chat about.

Men's Trends....who's wearing what?

A friend inquired about Men's Trends for Spring and Summer this year. Believe it or not men will wear floral, stripes, loafers, and European cut trousers. Pink is also in. I need to hit the streets to see if I can find a man embracing at least on of theses trends. Ocho Cinco is one of the men who embraced the loafer trend fully. His shoe game would put must women to shame. Andre 3000 has been wearing European cuts in his pants for quite sometime. This will be my goal this week. Watch out for upcoming posts.

Shoe Pick of the Week!

Floral is in. These naughty sandals by Free People will make that denim shirt with white shorts look effortless...

I too am a Victim....

We all fall victim to a comfort trend. Mine is leggings. They stretch, hold us in all the right places, and are very comfortable. I have prints, solid, textured and so on and so forth. Now the problem with these is you loose a sense of weight gain as well as a set style or look. No effort is needed to dress up or down. I was happy to see gauchos back meaning a structured style is on the way. Time to add swats and a run to the regiment. Now that I fallen victim I acknowledge my error in not incorporating other things to my wardrobe and becoming lazy when dressing. Now that I have admitted this I have to find some crazy prints for bottoms this summer. Loving the look of easy breezy but ready to eliminate my lazy ways. Ballet flats are also on my list but I'm going to need more time...what fashion trend is holding you hostage?
